Turbochargers don't take much power at all to run, minimal. An intercooler can make a much of power by lowering the air inlet temps. It's hard to make a lot of power with 200 degree IAT's, the timing and fuel are critical, they have to be richer and use less timing. With a lot cooler IAT's, the timing can go up as well as using safer but leaner fuel tuning.

The two links are both bad now, you might as well leave those out.

What ever happened with Rocket? I know he moved to Mississippi but he pops up on svtperformance.com everynow and then. I PM'd about 2 months ago with some questions and he never got back. And what's the deal with Awdrocks? Hope to hear some times from him soon because I think him and Mounty03 are going to have a battle for first:) Then I am going to add a 250 shot of nitrous and pray I can make one clean pass and clinch the title:) (Hey, we all have to dream a little!!!)

My guess is Rocket is doing a bunch of traveling being that he's in the military. If he could just make a few passes I believe he’d be in the number 1 spot.

AWDRocks has done some really nice work to his truck and I’d like to see him in the number 1 spot. That’s one clean a$$ engine bay.

Mounty should be in the number 1 spot soon. He’s got the ingredients for the number 1 spot right now. The only thing that concerns me is the trap MPH I see does not suggest a 12.7 needed to take the number 1 spot.

Jah81592 has now impressed me. You really don’t understand what sort of power someone has made until you try it yourself. James and I have about the same set-up but he does have meth injection and the right sized tires; Still, to get a 4000 lb truck to go as fast as he made his go? And with a v6? You v8 guys have to take your hat off to him and so do I.

Agreed, and all with the aerodynamics of a truck and its weight. Very impressive to all on the ET board, that's faster than people sending bran new $$$$$$ vetts and mustangs down the track :) Good work! I envy you all, wish I could spare some $$

Second time to the track...

Mine is running again and it feels much stronger on the top end. The trans is still shifting wrong though. When I get that figured out, it will be at the track again.

I was messing around this past Friday with some friends on the highway. Pinned the speedo and it was still pulling. This thing needs better brakes. It was scary trying to slow it down from that speed.

The older trucks are that light (4000 lbs)? Wow, mine was 4860 lbs with me in it.

The "Sport" models are 3800 LBS then add the driver. That's one advantage we have over the v8 x's.

My 5.0 four door version weighted in at 4830 with 100lb speaker box and me in it so roughly 4700 lbs with driver. That was at flying J down the street.

Mounty03- Looking forward to hearing how the new intake helps you at the the track. Just hope the rest of the drivetrain holds up:D Other than the new intake, have you upped the boost or anything since? Any new dyno numbers? It would be nice to do a comparo of what your topend is compared to a more stock vehicle(mine) in a given distance. Say a one mile run from a dead stop? If I ever attempt this, it will be on video and I am going to challenge you(even though you will win;))

Hi everyone.

Man I would like to first apologize AGAIN for being so disconnected. I have just been through some BUSY times and cant always keep up to everything.

I am going to suggest a new approach for the updates on this thread. I feel it will be the only way I can keep up and will just make it sooo much easier for me. Sometimes I just don’t have the time to read through 4 new pages I have missed and try to compare the times that are up to new ones that people post. Doesn’t sound like it but it’s a challenge.

From now on please PM me with your new times and mods. That way it will be easy for me just to reference and organize the list. If its still in my PM, then I still need to update it :) Simple! Once I update you, I will just delete the PM at that moment.

I will also add this request to the first post so new people can follow the new guidelines.

So if you read this and you see that your time or mods are still not up or updated. PLEASE send me a PM with your times/mods and ill get you up.

Sorry for any inconveniences.

On a side note. My ride is pretty much done with this next stage. I just started it two weeks ago, only to hear a noise coming out of my NEW torque converter. So I pulled the motor out again and I had made the mistake of leaving on a rubber plug on the motor side of the converter that was painted the same color as the converter. So I already put the motor back in and all that’s left is to put the charger back on and start her up again and hope for the best.

BUT I do want to say that the new blower case is a lot louder and it sounds healthy as ever.

Unfortunately my father suffered a stroke on the 15th of this month and I flew out to see him the next day here in Cancun and have been taken care of him with my mom. He can not walk yet or really talk. So its a hard situation. But looks like we found some good nurses/therapist that will take over once I leave this Sunday.

So as soon as I get home, im mounting that charger, hope for the best, tune it (dyno) and hit the track! Cant wait.

Ill keep everyone posted... and plan on borrowing that 1st place spot for just a little while ,)

Cheers....

BTW: Thank you for your help John!

awdrocks - Take care of yourself and your father - that is the main priorities.

Alex I hope things go well for your family. Take care my friend,

Sorry to hear about your father. Hope things work out and he gets better.

-Joel

Thanks everyone. Keeping him positive and healthy is key right now. These two weeks with him I believe were crutial. I brought my parents a ****tail of vitamins. I just need to make sure that when I leave there is pretty much full time help for mom or shes going to end up next to him!

But my dad is more lucid and stronger everyday. He is an incredible man, 84 years old and was playing tennis tournaments before his stroke. I just pray that with his determination he will someday be able to at least walk again. Just being able to get up and go to the bathroom is life changing for an entire family.

Thank you for your thoughts.

You guys better be shaking because here I come! :p:
