Please forgive me everyone for the late updates.

I just did three of them. I see I still need to update about three more members and will get them up. I have to run but will go over all the post thoroughly and update mods correctly ect.

Thanks for the patience!

edit: anti-rice, I put you behind cheesypoof because the only common denominator between your posts is your 60'!

I'm counting on the front skid plate to add some aerodynamic efficiency and help on the top end-:D

I am sure we will slice through the air like a peregrine falcon.

I ran like ASS tonight... :( best time was a 10.33. Probably should have given it more time to cool down after the drive there but i didnt have all night to run like i usually do. Oh well hopefully ill run better next time. Mabe ill take out my back seats, passenger seat, and spare tire next time ;) (mabe ill let my wife drive it next time too thats another 150-200 lbs out of the car lmao) look out Eric lol.

That's great Eric, 88mph is a good power figure.

I might start worrying when you get headers, 4 tenths in the 1/8th mile is forever.

Thanks, I just wish I could get that 60' time back down to where it was.

Well with the right conditions i can run 10.1s so if i lose like 250-300 lbs out of the X i may get a lil closer so if i let my wife drive thats -475 lbs. ^_^ dont ya think that could take 2 tenths off?

I think you are doing well on the stock trans and converter. I see hope that a matched converter will get the trucks under 2 seconds to 60 feet. That will help a lot, considering the disadvantage of higher speed acceleration, weight etc. The 60 foot time is the best place to win a real race, at the track or from a light.

they say a hundred pounds is equal to a tenth of a second as a general rule of thumb.

I want to get mine down the track for some lifted/lowered, before/after runs.

My stock 15's weighed 53.5 pounds, wheel/tire. The 17" OEM Cobra's with 255/60/17's were 58 pounds. That was a great combination, there was no perceptible change due to weight. My first 18" combination weighed 72.5 pounds, that was a 265/60/18, very heavy wheels and tires. That made a big difference, loss of performance.

When I changed tires next, I chose 255/60/18's, the tires are about 8 pounds less each, the total is near 64 pounds. The cheaper aftermarket wheels will weigh a lot more than stock, and taller tires(aspect ratio, total size) weigh much more also.

Try to keep the total wheel/tire weight under 60 pounds, many OEM wheels are forged and very light. The more popular wheels in the aftermarket may end up being lighter and cheaper. I didn't spend enough time checking weight specs back then.

My 20x8.5 rims with 275x45x20's weighted in a 58lbs. I was actually suprised because when the UPS man brought them, I picked one up expecting it to be heavy and nearly hit myself in the face:D Should be able to look around and find some quality used aluminum rims for a good price. If anything, keep the stock rims and find a better street tire that will hold the power. That way you can keep the "sleeper" look?

I recently removed the 15" steel rims and 33's, they were extremely heavy! I wish I would have weighed one of them for reference. The stock rims with 32" BFG A/T's feel like they are half the weight!

Remember that larger/wider wheel/tire combos add extra rolling resistance also.

how about the number three spot for power adders.

01 Sport
4.0 SOHC sts turbo charged
Stock Wheels and tires

Thanks, I guess I'll be in the 12's by the time the front page of the thread gets updated. ;):p:
