not till i get mine back on the road can i take it off the road =p

ready yet?

lookin g to go to wharton soon, u guys ready?

im also down for trips to wharton im there every weekend, ill def join on the august 30th run.

I just finished my SAS, gotta replace my valve body and do some front end alignment work...but once that's taken care of, I'm ready to get out and test the thing! Let's aim for a July AND an August trip, just throw out some dates and let's see who can go when.

intensity

I'm just wondering how intense the trails at wharton are - my girl's not too far from stock yet and i wouldnt want to be slowing you guys down -.-

not too bad all sand , its been dry for awhile so probly no water or little plenty of roads to ride stock so she should be fine

yea thats the only bad part about summer offroading is no water haha

1/4 mile should still have water/mud...it always does. And there is climbing over at Jerimiah Hill, and I'm not quite sure how to get there but the trails at wharton also lead to this place called "Frenchys" which has lots of hills and climbing areas. Nothing too insane, nothing a stock explorer couldn't do without a decent driver behind the wheel.

Also. I blew my 2nd A4LD , so I'm down temporarily. I'm doing the M5OD swap, and I should/need to be back on the road by next week so I'd be good for a July 18th trip. Up to you folks.

nice choice for trans just hope to not run into to many problems =p

Yeah, it's the only other thing I could throw in without busting my ass in custom jobs.

you run over your filter any more times since last? haha that can also mess with your ex a bit after a while

Nah, secured the snorkel top better. Also going to be running a filter in the stock location, in case I lose the top again.

good choice =p ill be doin my own snorkel eventually haha

I'm gonna be grabbing my new tranny tommorrow and hopefully putting her in wed and thurs. That means I'll be road-worthy come this weekend. If you want Don, we can build you a snorkel just like we built mine.

Of course, you have to come to terms with cutting a hole in the side of your truck. Haha.

Honestly, snorkel-wise, If I could do it again I'd do it exactly like I did but put another angle on it to bring the top of the snorkel straight up and down, and then put an ARB safari top on it. It gives the truck a badass look, I have to admit.

I've also started to grow some confidence welding and fabricating, and once the truck is solid and I don't need to worry about replacing need-to-drive stuff (ball joints, tie rods, trannys, alternators, fuel pumps...etc...all the stuff I've had to replace in the last month haha) I'm going to be working on a rear tire carrier. I hear with some modification the basic design of the BII tire carrier works fine on Exploders, so I'm going to check that out as my base. I've got all these spare tires sitting around the house, but I never have one in the truck because it takes up all my cargo room.

Oh that sounds great! So if you guys plan on going anytime soon just pm me or even post it up here, and ill be there! I also have been wanting to add a snorkel but can't quite come to terms with cutting that hole either haha. Good luck with the tranny swap! Hate seeing unfortunate turns of events, specially when it comes to transmission jobs :P. Stay high speed guys,

If you can't come to terms with it, I'll cut the hole for ya.... ;)

Haha I appreciate the offer! So what kind of hit would say, my fuel economy, etc. Take from adding a snork? Is the change noticeable? I'm heavily debating just doing it

im totally at terms with cutting the hole and since i work at a plumbing place i can prolley have some pipe fall outta my truck haha then just heat bend and tthere i go fancy pants snorkel and of course safari style top =p

If anything it would improve your performance/fuel economy a little. A snorkel is the only TRUE cold air intake ;)
