Does anyone have any experience with using any oil additives, such as Slick 50 or DuraLube? My 2000 Sport 4X4 has 25,000 miles on it, is it a good idea to use an additive like this? Any pro's or con's is appreciated.:)

You'll get all kinds of answers and opinions. All motor oils have all the additives they need to meet your engines lubrication requirements. You need nothing else in the crankcase. If you want to put something in, then put a synthetic oil in.

All you would be doing with addatives is wasting your money.

Stick with quakity oil and give synthetic a good look.

Do not use additives. At best they waste your money, and at worst can harm your engine. Ford, GM, and Chrysler say not to use additives. Consumer Reports saw no benefit in their use. Modern motor oils has all the additives in it you need already. You might want to try synthetic oil or a premium filter like a Purolator Pure 1 or a Mobil one.

Yeah, additives are a waste of money. They all try to scam you. Just stick to the basics and nothing could (should) go wrong :D .

Thanks for all of the opinions. The census seems to say stay away from any additives and go Synthetic if anything, so I will follow this advise!!:chug:
