As the title states, I have a 94 exploder with an oil leak that only leaks when the truck is parked amd I'm losing about a quart every 1k miles. It's from the bell housing area, and I know it only leaks when parked because the exaust and transmission crossmember is oil free, but the oil is covering about halfway up the oil pan and back to the transmission pan. The top of the motor is clean so it's not the valve covers, so that leaves either the rear main or the oil pan, right? What else could it be? How can I tell if its one or the other?
If it's the rear main, could I pull the starter and see if theres oil slung everywhere inside the bell housing?
If it's the oil pan can I replace it without pulling the motor? Just drop the front beams and crossmember?
Any advice is appreciated.
