I've searched quite a bit on this and saw different responses. Maybe you guys can give me more insight.
I have a 2001 Eddie Bauer Explorer (5.0L V8). It almost has 30k miles on it and is still under warranty. I was under the car and noticed some oil where the bell housing meets the tranny. It wasn't much. Just a couple of drops. I took it in to the Ford dealer to look at it. They called me back and said it was normal for the V8 Explorers to do that. They said a few drops leak from the intake manifold and run back to the bell housing. Then it drips from there. They said they could tear in to it, but they were afraid they would make things worst trying to find a normal leak.
Well my warranty is coming up soon. Is this normal? Should I make them tear in to it? Any advice, opinions, etc is appreciated.
Thanks
