Oil Pressure Gauge Mod DONE!

Yesterday, I did the oil pressure gauge modification that was talked about here several weeks ago. I changed the oil pressure sender, and removed the 20K resister from the back of the gauge - now my gauge indicates actual oil pressure!

It took 2 hours to remove the dash, replace the resister with a wire, and put it all back together. Not real difficult, just kind of a pain in the butt. Another advantage is I cleaned 6 years of dust off of the instrument cluster! It looks brand new!

It took about 5 minutes to swap out senders.

The gauge now reads from the low side of the "O" while idling in gear, to the high side of the "M" going down the interstate.

It's definately comforting knowing the actual oil pressure (especially with 150K on the motor!)
 












No, sorry. I didn't even thing about taking any.

Now that you mention it, I could have taken on of the back of the instrument panel, showing which resister needs to be replaced.
