I need to clear 33 inch Pro Comp Mud Terrains. I can do a TT/AAL for 1.5, but I need an extra 2 or 3 inches, and I want to avoid a body lift if at all possible. The truck is a 95 4WD. Do I have any other options gaining the extra inches other than a body lift?

I did a search but I'm too new at this. Please help a brotha out. Thanks.

Other than the superlift, the BL is the only way to clear 33's. Or you could hack the crap outa your fenders. Oh, maybe some of the perrys fenders also. By the way, whats with the sudden change from street to off-road.

Trader!!!!!!!!! You're crazy bro.

Put F150 Tortion Bars in and crank the hell out of them, that should give you about 7" of front lift. Then just put 6" blocks in the rear and that should even out.

Easy as pie! About 6" total lift (with no BL) and all, with allignment, for under $100.

Seriously Robb...

I saw a Ranger that has F150 t-bars, and it's pretty big. Is it possible to put F150 bars in and not crank them up all the way for about 5 inches? If so, I could do a SOA in the rear.

There's no need for the F-150 bars. Ford makes bars that fit with no modification that are very stiff. It's not a matter of how high you can go, you can go as high as you want (to the max of the suspension travel) with a TT with stiffer bars.

It's just a matter of being able to handle the harsh ride, lack of suspension travel, and wear and tear associated with a TT.

With that said, even with a 3" TT you're not going to be able to clear a 33x12.50 without rubbing.

Yes I want to retain some ride quality, I'm fine with a 1.5 TT and a 2 inch body lift. Only problem is, after looking at some of the write-ups, I just don't feel confident in doing it.

I want some lift man!

Yes.

Here is the exact wheel and tire combo that I'm planning:

Good Choice! That is a nice combo.

Derek, honestly, if you have the mechanical ability to install lowering blocks on your rear axles, you prolly have the ability to install a BL. Plenty of people here would be more than willing to help you out with any info you may need. I think most here would be glad to help just to see the Before/After pics of your X.

wow.. from street to dirt. good choice! :p

if you could find some mudders in a 33x10.5 rather than 12.5... you would have a much easier time fitting them without so many rubbing issues.

Does anybody know of any write-ups on body lifts? I've read one and it was overwhelming..

i know dave (taxxman2k) has a link to one writeup on his webpage which is in his sig. i used that one and its not overwhelming once you get down there and start doing it. pretty simple actually.

Here ya go D

Dorn't forget theres alot of peeps in INDY that could help you out. Taxxman2k lives there too, but he is working on a sas. I would volunteer my time, but i only have 11 days left in the area.

psss...wasn't it you that said my truck has been lifted and lowered more than a cheap ***** :o

J/K man, glad to see your thinking of lifting it

[sigh]

if thats what you want... then i say...

I definately agree with the suggestion of going with 33x10.50 if you want to try less lift.

I have 3" of TT in the front (which you obviously couldn't do), 4.5" of spring lift in the rear, front fenders, and 33x12.50s. This means that you could fit 33x12.50s with 2" TT, 2" body, and glass.

I'm beginning to get a feel for just how hard it is to lift a 2nd gen 4WD without dumping lots of money in the Superlift kit. After talking with Taxxman and SSOKRIA, the body lift seems achievable except for the relocation of the bumpers. I don't want to run a 10.50 tire because I think it would look skinny.

Taxxman gave me some pictures of his truck with a TT, 2 inch body lift, and 33s and he said he only had rubbing on his flares, which I don't have.

Maybe this isn't the right thing for me after all.
