I ordered the Aiwa DEC-MP3 CD receiver that plays MP3's out of Crutchfield today. Any opinions on it?

Do they finally have it IN STOCK?

It's supposed to be the bomb, the only gripes is that it skips like crazy for some people, cause Aiwa forgot Shock Protection in it. Don't know HOW they missed that feature.

availability

Does anyone know of place I can order this from? They don't have them available in Canada yet, but I really want to get one. Great Falls, Montana is just 5 hours away and I'd go out of my way to get one of these.

You an get one from Ebay. Do a search.

BarryM:

I think if you called the dealer and MT and paid for it he would ship it. This would save you the drive. Also, if anyone else is looking for one of these, Ultimate Electronics in Sioux Falls, SD have them in stock, or did anyway. Give them a call. I am sure they would ship.

Crutchfield!
This thing is awesome I must say. A must have.

They are supposed to be available from http://www.mmxpress.com at this time.

$295 plus about $11 Shipping. They are supposed to be in by the 8th and guaranteed gone by the ninth (January). Good luck!
There are supposed to be about a dozen on order so try quickly!

so u can put like 300 songs on a CD? how do u scroll through a list like that?? what quality can the mp3s be at? my porable mp3 player wont play anything above 160kbps because its not really using a different compression.

cost

295 US$ x 1.5 = $442.50 CDN$, not to mention whatever duty they want to slap on.

I was hoping to find a dealer in Montana that might carry them - of course I didn't think of it at first, but shipping charges will probably be a lot less then a couple tank fulls of gas.

The quality is great and no you can only fit like 215 songs on each disk =P
2 discs will keep me happy for a long long time.
Just think on 1 CD I fit entire CDs by: Tom Waits, Lego Spaceman (Who Ho Riffman!), Dead Kennedys, Clutch, Fu Manchu, QBert, Biz Markie, Johnny Cash, Noreaga, Talking Heads, and Weezer. Plus a few misc. songs.

Nice!

Well I have had it for over a week now and just wanted to relate my opinion.

The quality matches that of a CD no problems there. It does skip but only when going through very rough terrian. I had problems the factory amp will not accept it so we had to use a adapter to bypass it.
The install was very easy. I have no idea why I would ever go back to a CD player, this thing is amazing. I'll take some pics this weekend.

Now time to search for a cheap 12 inch/amp combo. Any suggestions?

A cheap amp/12inch combo. You could go real cheap and get a pioneer amp and Orion Sub. Decent quality, Orion guarantees all their subs for life too. Personally, I am very glad to have spent the extra $$ on Kicker SPL's. Very versatile sub, does Dead and Nas equally well.

I will sell you my 12" RF punch XLC in a bandpass box for

$175

110 original for sub
85 original for box used for one and a half months.

i am just wanting to go 2 12's in a custom made box.
