Our luck has run out at about 50,000 miles

She's back and doing very well.

The recall for the backup camera was completed. They replaced the camera and wiring.

At 49,000+ miles it began throwing error codes for the 4wd System, Traction Control, and Hill Start Assist,

The dealership Replaced AWD Module.

They found that the drivers side half shaft was leaking. so they replaced two shafts along with a slew of related components under warranty.

Replaced intermediate shaft per TSB 23-2174

It would have been in the shop for less than a week, but they had to order a special bolt so it took a full week.

We rented a Honda CR-V which had to be returned the same day we got it due to it throwing a slew of error codes. We were then given a Dodge Ram Rebel 4 door with a Hemi. After driving both of those vehicles I am even more happy with our ST.

The Dodge had the power, but it wasn't nearly as smooth as the ST. The 400 HP ST also feels faster than the 395HP Ram. The interior of the Dodge felt like it was missing a lot. Not as many power seat adjustments, no seat coolers or massagers, no passenger side power seat, and a terrible sound system are my major complaints.

The Honda CR-V was just plain awful. The CVT transmission is a joke, it doesn't respond well and just feel slow in every situation. After the dash lit up with errors I Googled the issue and found that it is common among the entire Honda lineup. It's hard to imagine renting vehicles with so many safety related issues.

The old Honda cars had legendary reliability. I miss the days when you could get 4 wheels and seat with no options or technology to break.

Yeah me too. That 98 Civic was the only car that I owned that never suffered major powertrain failure. And all the parts it ever needed were cheap and easy to replace.

I just watched an episode of CHIPS where Rosie Greer disassembled a Honda on the side of the road. LOL
