I have a 99 sport with standard package. Electric doors and locks, no keyless entry.

Whenever we start the engine all the doors lock. Well now that cold weather is here my wife goes out to start it in the AM to get frost off and closes the door. You know what happens, she is locked out. Not that it has ever happened to me (ha)!

Is there a way to disable that feature or do I need to give the wife a key to wear around her neck?

im not sure about the 99 sport but i have an 01 and the locks only engage when you put the truck in drive. something isnt right

If you have a keypad entry there is a way to disable the auto locks by typing in a certain code. It tells you how to do it in your owners manual. I don't remember how.

My 93 does have this feature, thank goodness i have remote entry too. If yours does have the remote entry, if the door is open and there is no pressure on the driver's seat for more than 3 seconds, they should auto-unlock

If her X has the keyless entry, you can reprogram it so it doesn't lock automatically. But I suspect that something is wrong with the lock/unlock switch on the driver's door. You can pull the door liner and look for a loose wire or replace the lock switch or just cut a duplicate key for her to unlock the door when she gets locked out. You can even use a cheap key without PATS that unlocks the door, but doesn't start the truck.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. She does not have keyless entry so when it locks she is in trouble. I keep telling her to press unlock on the drivers door before she shuts the door but she keeps forgetting. As soon as motor starts you hear a click and the rest is history if you slam the door.

Thanks All

Try this

1. turn the ignition key from OFF to ON/ACC.

2. press the power door UNLOCK control three times.

3. turn the ignition key from ON/ACC to OFF.

4. Press the power door UNLOCK control three times.

5. turn the ignitionkey from OFF to ON/ACC. A horn chip indicates the enable/disable feature is entered.

6. press the power door UNLOCK control one time.

7. press the power door LOCK control to toggle the Autolock/Relock state. You will recieve a horn chirp followed by either a long honk, autolock/relock is enabled, or no honk, autolock/relock is disabled.

8. turn ignition OFF

. . .within 30 seconds. . .
