I have read several threads that discuss overhead consoles but have not found an answer for my question. So, do all 2003 Explorers have a double roof over the front seat area? I am going to put in a small overhead console that is primarily lights and somewhere to stash my sunglasses. I am going to use one that I got from a mid 90's Buick. Size is great for my intended use but thinking through how to mount it is where I am right now. I plan on tying in to the stock overhead light so that the main light is switched with the doors and a feed to the switched map lights so they work as designed. I just bought the Explorer and haven't dropped the ceiling and would love to not drop it if possible. Any thoughts and suggetions would be helpful.
