I was looking at picture of a '92 Explorer and noticed that the interior lights are just like mine in my '91. They are just the basic light blub with the clear lens over it, but when I looked at a picture of "Brian Green's 2wd Explorer" on the Explorers section (I think it's number 3 down) his interior has lights like the new models with the switches on the back. Was that an option? Something that came in late '92? And if he did it himself, how would you wire them, and where can you get them? Thanks.

Well, I don't know exactly when they changed over but my 92 has the more modern light that I think you are referring to with the map lights built in. And it came stock. I do know that ford used the same light in the mustang starting at about the same time. It shouldn't be hard to find one in a wrecking yard and the wiring should be a snap because the switches are built right in. good luck.

i have a 91 EB and i have the lights that you are talking about , so im sure they are stock in some of the trucks , Zensius is right though it shouldnt be hard at all to hook up if you find one. good luck

There was a previous post on the board about this same question, if you wanna search for it. Would there be problems putting the ones with the map lights in if you have a moon roof? becasue I have a moon roof and would love to put that in.

Thanks
