Overhead Map lights....how to replace

I need to replace the overhead map/dome lights in my 01 Explorer Sport....I went to Autozone and got the bulbs they showed to replace them...but something is WRONG.....the lights in the console are not removable without taking the whole assembly apart...and then it looks as if they are a special type of bulb. Any help? I tried to remove one of the original bulbs but I wound up breaking it....

i have a 94 so it might be diff then in your newer model but i had to take the clear lense off then unscrew the chrome plastic inside and pop it out CAREFULLY with a small flat head screwdriver to get at my bulbs cause i have big hands and they werent griping the bulb lol
