Ok we finally got some rain out here so me and some buddies went wheeling well we were hitting it hard for a couple of hours, about 15 or 20 the the holes and everything was fine well on my last past the guy before me dug up a huge rock and i did not see it and it hit my tranny it was lound i got out and looked at hit did not see nothing wrong, let the rigs cool down for about a hour due to our buddie getting water in thru his intake on his 2002 Land rover (i have pics but can not post) finally got it started and puttered out of there on the way out i was in the big D and when it shifts into 4th it just overspeeds i looked down to see the idiot lights and the check guage was on and it was in the red so we pulled over in the sand and parked for about a hour to cool down, i then tested it out on the road and it seemed fine after that we decide to drive the beach for a while to get some of the mud off of the bottom about 20 mins into it blam smoke everywhere i stopped and turned it off then it stopped then smoke from underneath i looked and smoke was comeing from tranny and fluid was pouring out well it let cool down again for another hour and drove it home and for 2 days it would start to overheat in traffic if i was not moveing, well i had a truck cruise yesterday and the guys were taking stuff apart and said my radiator was caked with mud so i spent about 2 hours just spraying the thing off seems fine now do you guys believe that this is the problem, but i have not been in traffic yet to test it out plus should i just add more fluid or just change the tranny fluid i don't know when the last time it was changed i bought the truck about 3 months ago, and if someone would tell me how to post pics i have some good ones of the 2 brokendown jeeps and Land rover.

It certainly could have been. Have to try it out now that you've cleaned it.
