just to be of help to anyone else on this forum, as you all have been so kind to me - I have had to recently:

replace the CEL lamp
replace the camshaft sensor (looks simple but has a nasty gotcha)

can advise anyone on these two issues, have pics as well.

Im still not done yet as the camshaft sensor assembly module on my vehicle has had a complete meltdown:

My questions:

what would cause this ?
looks like I need to replace the whole camshaft assembly or just a smaller sub-module ?

The vehicle still runs, but it backfires (very very mildly) and has very poor acceleration

Im definitely NOT going to attempt this repair but Im wondering what kind of financial hit I should expect ?

Thanks again to all you forum members !
