I am planning on fixing my 01 Explorer sport and I want to paint the whole truck one color. I have the bumper that is grey plastic but half is painted body color. Basically i want to have no grey plastic showing when i get done painting it. I just need to know the process by which to do so. Do i sand down the plastic till smooth and put on a plastic primer promoter and then paint. What can i do so the paint doesnt crack or peel off the plastic? HELP!

Painting plastics on my ex-sport

sanding the textured plastic wont make it smooth. That plastic is pertty fiberous and sanding will leave little "hairs". Smoothing it will take a good bit of work and some body filler.
