Parking Brake Adjustment

I have a Ford Explorer XLT 2017, the issue is handbrake sign is always visible, even after we have changed ABS and censor.
Invest in a code reader that can read out the ABS /SRS codes before you throw more random parts at it.
Could be just about anything that makes the ABS light come on and there's no telling without reading out the codes.

I took my parking braking off and threw it in the garbage where it belongs. Worthless design.

I've never had a car with a worse parking brake than this either. Mine at least almost works, but I went with a fancy 'aftermarket upgrade kit' and always carry 2 wheel chocks in the trunk.

I had to do the rear brakes again on my newest 98. The first time last Winter, the parking brake pads were very thin, but all there. Now after about 8 months I noticed the parking brake barely does anything. I had a slight random noise for a couple of weeks, and did the rear brakes again.

This time I see the problem, the parking brake linings fell off completely, about 30% of one was still hanging on. I put on new rotors before, and at least those are not hurt. I never used the parking brake while moving, so it didn't mess up the rotors. Now I have to find time to do the rear axle bearings, and the parking brake pads etc. Fun times for the Winter.

I wish my parking brakes would just rust into pieces and fall off. But that’ll take another 100 years or so haha.

Press the parking brake down a little and drive it that way. It'll turn the linings into nothing fairly soon.

They probably don't retract all the way. A local shop told me the only way he ever got them right was with the big drum brake calipers.
