Hey guys, Ive had some issues with the parking brake warning light on the dash. When i drive the light will come on saying the brake is engaged when obviously its not. It seems to turn on/off when i go over bumps or rough terrain. How would i go about solving this?

Thanks!:us:

Ck your fluid level in master cylinder, when it gets low the light will come on. When it is low it usually means your brakes are getting low.

can you direct me to the stuff i'd need to fill that up? i just check the level and it is low so thats probably the case

edit: nevermind i found some, but thanks for all the help!

There is a switch where the parking brake pedal is mounted. That switch may be loose, it happened in my ST as well. I adjusted the cable and the switch and all is good now. The parking brake light has nothing to due with your fluid level in the master cylinder, as it is a cable that runs from the pedal to the brake.

I would recommend getting the brakes checked before you start filling anything up on the truck. Low brake fluid normally indicates either a leak or your rotor/brake pad wearing thin.

well my brakes have been starting to squeak, ill take them to brake masters or some other brake place and get em checked soon

The red "Brake !" indicator does in fact indicate low fluid level as well as parking brake engagement.
From the manual:
"Illumination after releasing the parking brake indicates low brake fluid level and the brake system should be inspected immediately by your servicing dealership."
