I have some damage to my passenger side door and lower corner of the hinge pillar and rocker on my 98 Eddie. The body damage is repaired and everything is straight and correct. Hinge location etc. I picked up a door from a 95 that looks like an exact repalacement. with everything else fitted up the upper rear corner of the window is about an inch from contacting the seal. Do I have a bad door? I can not see any evidenct that it is bent. Did ford make some minor contour changes between 95 and 98? Other than the bottom damage the origional door fits correctly and the rear door is perfect. Thanks for any help. Dave...

sounds to me like the hinge pillar is still bent.

The '95-01 doors are all the same (with minor trim variations). Either something is still bent on the vehicle like Monmix said or you have a damaged door.

Thanks, The "experts" kept telling me that the doors were not compatable. I suspected that the shells were identicle. The 95 that I pulled the door from had been hit pretty severely on the drivers side. I could not see any damage or evidence of distortion but it must be sprung. One of the other members gave me some advice on how to "rack" the door back into shape. By all of my measurements, templates, and straight edge work, the new pillar is within a 1/16 of an inch in all dimensions.

p.s. I did notice that Ford changed the design of the reiforcement (crash) bar between 95 and 98 to make the ends stronger.
