Hello.
I've had my 2007 Explorer for 5 months now. Today, I put the 2nd row seats down flat so I could haul some items.
The message center said "Remove object from passenger seat area"
There wasn't any.
thinking since I've never had the 2nd row seats down flat, maybe this was causing the problem?
Yep. Put the seats back upright, started the engine and the message (along with the air bag Icon) were no longer there.
I put the seats back down to see if the message and air bag lights comes back on. It did.
So, my question is this: Has this happened to anyone else? If so, do you know why it's happening?
