Has anyone with fiberglass fenders found a decent spot and method for relocating the radio antenna? Not sure I want the stress on the fibreglass to remount the antenna to it....

just a thought but if you could find one of those swept back antennas from a car, you could mount it on the roof...I think it would look pretty good there and not be way up in the air like a cb antenna. If you want to keep the factory antenna though you could easily reenforce the mounting area with some scrap metal plate, could probably epoxy the pate to the glass fender to integrate it more. By the way i see your in indy like me...if you see a black f150 stx 4x4 with a rrorc decal give me a honk :D. My explorer is at my parents, waiting patiently for a d44 :)

Sorry I can't help you. I didn't have to worry about that.

Is there room for you to mount it like the first gens are?

Thanks for the idea...I went to look at that exact spot, but I haven't figured out how to get to that spot to tighten a nut from underneath. It's behind the firewall from the engine, behind the inner fender sheetmetal from under the fender, and in front of the metal behind the dash.

Maybe I'll just stick it on the roof rack like the CB antenna....make it look like a dual CB antenna setup....hmmm.....will work on it more tomorrow.

that was the stock location on the ranger, bronco 2 and the explroer in that era

Just put it on the hood a little bit farther forward of the first gen in that pic.

yo fenderguy how much did your fenders cost if you dont mind me askin

or, there are hood antnna mounts that come out from under the hood, if you dont mind that look, you could do it that way....

I don't remember exactly. It was over 5 years ago. I think the front were around 3 bills and the rears were around 5 bills or so. Go to www.perrysfabnfiber.com and check it out. They may even give a discount if you say you're a member of this web site, not sure though.

They do work with board members...Perry Jr. took real good care of me. He even did the black gel-coat (special order) like Skier's. $350 or so for the fronts incl shipping.

I'm taking pictures along the way, so hopefully I'll have a decent write-up on the build soon.

when i shaved my wiper in my 95 I put the antenna in the couwl. I laid it horisantal inside and drilled a hole in the back corner of the engine bay by the hinge. I got somewhat crappy reception but i got rid of radio anyway for satilitte

thx ive gotta get some there bad azz
