Well my 1991 was stolen 2 weeks ago, I found a nice 96 EB and will likely be picking it up tomorrow.

I just want to know if their are any specifiic spots I should really take alook at, I am more familiar with first gens, so any common problem spots with 2ng gens would be helpfull to know. I am mechanically inclined so I do know what to look for when i crawl underneith.

Also do they come with the limited slip rear, i know my 91 had it, and was great, and finially I notice there isnt really a full intake set-up I can purchase aside from the K&N, or am I wrong.

thx alot in advance.

as to the Limited slip it should say on the tag on the axle, or the cover, it should say the gear ratio and if there is a LS then you have a limited slip. At least this is what I remember seeing, if the tag is not there look on the door frame.

Do a search, alot of people have made intakes for 2nd gen trucks.

what engine does the "new" 96 have?

I believ 96's have the 4.0 OHV, and in 97 is when they came out with the 4.0 OHC

Yeah but a 96 also came with a 5.0L V8

It's easier to look on the drivers door tag, than to crawl underneath. Check the trans fluid color BEFORE you buy. If its dark, or smells bad, I wouldn't buy it. UNless of course you have the $$$ for a rebuild. Usually a fluid change is moot after the trans fluid blackens in these trannies.
