I am Murgatroy.
I have extensive experience in automotive endeavors. I have been a gearhead since I was 18. I discovered that if I were to drive the vehicles the way I drive them, I had best damned learn to work on them.
I have owned many domestics, from the rare to the common. About 6 years ago I went to the dark side and started tuning Imports. I currently own a pair of Toyota Celicas. A Fourth Gen ST162 (`89 GT) and a Fifth Gen AT 180 (`90 ST.) I am a moderator over at www.Celicatech.com. I am currently in the process of prepping my ST162 (Mudhoney) for a 3SGTE swap. The 3SGTE is the turbocharged 2.0 liter engine from the Celica Alltrac or MR2 Turbo.
I have owned several dozen Mustangs and Camaros. So thinking I am an Import Snob or a Ricer would be incorrect. I have a serious weakness for the Second Gen Camaro, I had a `75 that turned in a best ET of 10.91 seconds. It was quick to say the least.
I owned an `86 Bronco II 4x4 several years ago, it was a fun little truck. I have also owned several Ford fullsize pick-ups over the years. From a `70 F250 to an `80 F150. I like older vehicles. They have lines that appeal to me more than later models.
I recently picked up a `91 Explorer Sport, 5-speed 2WD. I got it rather cheap as it had some problems. I have signed up here because I refuse to own a vehicle that I can't learn as much about as possible. I have learned that a forum will have many members who know what they are talking about. As I prefer to do my own work, it only makes sense that I find folks that know more about this truck than I do.
I currently have several cars. Including a rather involved project car. My goal with the Explorer is to create a reliable car for my family to be able to use. I have a young daughter and trying to fit a family into a 2-door Japanese sports car is a lesson in futility.
I look forward to a prosperous future amongst us all and I hope that I have as much to offer the community as you have to offer me.
