Ok ive asked this question about 4 times on here and never seem to get a reply on what the problem could possibly be.
The only thing that bothers me about my car is this...
When I am stationary... either in Drive or Reverse... (not park or neutral).. My car makes somewhat of a whining noise.. it really dosen't sound like the belt although i will not rule it out..
The only times this noise is present (sort of sounds like a hissing noise that cuts in and out..) is when I am NOT moving.. Once i hit the gas and start to drive the noise goes away completely.. like it just cuts off the hissing sound.
I can really hear the sound when I go though a drive-through to get some food or what not and the sound can echo off the wall. My car dosent have any other weird movements or anything.. it sits still well.. just I really would love to get rid of that noise..
Again it ONLY happens when im sitting still (It is NOT the brakes) cause it happens with feet off the brakes as well... it generally only does it in drive and reverse.. Tranny seems to be fine, shift fine, etc.. i'd have a hard time believing it would be the tranny.. it HAS to be something small and simple.. anyone else ever had this problem? i have the 1997 SOHC 4.0
