i'm working on a 04 explorer with v6 sohc. there is a bad noise like loose timing chain or guides. I know it has 4 chains with 4 tenisioners and takes some special tools. I pulled the front cover off and don't see anything thats loose or broken that could be making the noise from the lower left front part of motor.
Is it possible that I don't see anything loose or broken to make the timing chain make that noise?

Welcome to the forum! You can also do a compression test to make sure there isn't anything going on with a valve or maybe even something going wrong with a piston.

Thank you for your help, parts are on the way!
