I took some measurements on the cowl area of the hood of my 2001 Explorer XLT.
Measurements were approximately 38" wide at the front of the hood by approximately 36" long from back of cowl to front roll of the hood.
I had several thoughts out of boredom:
Making a cut along the vertical scoop section of the cowl area, lifting the rear of the hood 2 inches for a more aggressive look.
Adding a Poison Spyder Customs aluminum hood louver.
Does anyone know what gauge aluminum sheet that Poison Spyder uses for their bolt-on hood louvers? Has anyone attempted to use a bolt on louver on something other than intended? The one i'm looking at is for a '97-'02 TJ, but if the gauging is light enough, shaping it shouldnt be an issue.
