I put my x up on jack stands just to see if the 4x4 worked right, I bought it about a year ago and never got a chance to test it out. I put it in 4 high and all the wheels except the front driver side wheel spin when you put it in gear. I know that it has a limited slip rear end. Then when i looked underneath the x the front driveshaft spins but the driver side axle wasnt spinning. So technically i have 3 wheel drive. I am wondering what would cause just that one tire not to spin.

You may have a differential problem, or this could be normal for an open differential. To test, apply resistance to the spinning wheel. If the differential is working properly, the driver side shaft and tire should turn.

This is normal with the open front diff. This is why there are so many here converting the the locker, full lock on both front wheels.

No worries...

Good, i was thinking that it was an open diff but why does ford put a limited slip rear end but put in an open front diff in the same vehicle?

Drivability, and I don't think auto would work with the locker as the driveline would bind incessantly. Not sure if same is true for the 1st Gen Ex's
