I've been taking the explorer(98 Xlt) on some light wheeling, but i have seemed to crush the front lower crossemember for my IFS. First is there a way to fix that an beef it up. Does anyone make a skid plate for the front end. Secondly i Still have a parts Cherokee with a dana 30 i was thinking of a solid axle swap, i know jefe has done almost what i was thinking. but i just want to use the coils off the cherokee Not coil overs yet. I want to re use as much off that thing as i can. has anybody done anything similair to that idea.thank you for your time

There are a couple members here who have made custom lower IFS cross members. For the most part you can bend the stock ones simply by stepping on them. As for your cherokee front end, I'm pretty sure it would take some custom work to get it to fit. In my own mind if I'm going to have to do custom fab I'd go all out and do the SAS.

A member here sold his explorer sport a while ago, it was on 35s with a D30 and cherokee springs. If you want to dig through the for sale forum I'm sure you could find it.
