Seeing as a couple of threads have come up recently about air-filters, I thought it would just be a good idea to start this up so everyone can post what they are running and talk about it with other types of set-ups. I would just like to see what sort of aftermarket parts you guys are using... so go ahead and pop the hood and show off what you have done!

Parts list and reason for your set-up could also be cool!

I bought this kit from eBay a couple years back and it worked good but didn't keep the hot air out because it doesn't have a heat shield and the tube doesn't keep out the hot air.

The pricier KKM kits, K&N kits and others work better but I ended up just putting the stock style drop in K&N filter in the factory air box. There was ZERO difference in mpg's or performance, there was a louder suction noise from the bigger cone filter but that was it.

Right on! Thanks for posting Jerry. Now what is the disadvantage to the engine pulling in hot air compared to cold? Okay that sounded kinda dumb, but is the answer as bland as the engine has to put more energy into cooling itself down and it could over heat?

Looks good. Lets see some more!

hotter air means less density. the motor is actually burning more air than fuel when youre talking about fuel/air mixtures, so if you have hotter air which is less dense, that means there is less oxygen per combustion. i hope i explained that right! just think of it this way, colder air equals more O2 density. its the reason why people put nitrous bottles to work.
