Power Drain From Alarm

I seem to have a problem with the hard-wired alarm system that keeps draining my battery. The theft light onj the dash pulsates very brighly and it is in sinc with a test light showing a battery discharge. I have been disconnecting the battery when not in use until I can find a solution. Anyway to bypass the alarm system or is this a dealer problem?

factory alarm or aftermarket alarm?
if it's aftermarket - unplug that instead of the battery until you get time to trouble shoot it.
