Hi all,

My wife has a 99 Windstar with the 4 doors and all. I'm starting ot have a small problem with the power lock on one of the back doors not working. I tried to search but came up short. i remember reading on here about just cleaning the power lock to help with this problem.

By chance doesn anyone know if it eas to remove the door panels on these vans. BEcasue the door has to be close to remove these.

thanks!

I'll give you my infput for what it's worth

With most door panels similar to that I believe that you will have to mess around with the door both open and closed to pry the plastic panel off.

Buy a Chilton or Hayes manual and it should help you.

power locks not working...

I had the same problem...turns out it was NOT the switch, but the wires running power to the switch that were buggered...on my ex it was the connections in the "barrel" where the wires all met between the door and front quarter panel. (visible when the door is open). My mechanic here fixed the problem with a quick wiring job...he figures that the set up is brutal and destined to fail!
Check this out and you should be able to do it without removing the panel (once you have determoned which wires in the barrel are the culprits.
