I just came back from a ride and the truck was normally hot and then suddenly in my street (lucky me!!!) the transmission begun to slip or something like that and when i tried to brake the pedal pulsated 3 times before braking. I have a lost of power in braking and in transmission gears change. The transmission have the same problem in all gears and in reverse too it seems not to slips a lot but no power engaging the gears and it look like the tranny just wont completly engage. Can it be the outside vacuum modulator and how to test it? If you dont think that its that then what could it be ???
By the way i dont have ABS brakes i own a 1992 explorer with A4LD tranny 4 wheel drive.
Thank you.
I need my truck for the valentine day to go outside the town see my girlfriend thats why i call it a 911 :)

Dont blame yo mate, sorry its late for the reply and hope you made the date!
check all your hoses first, as the pulsating and and loss of brake power sounds like your booster is not working, I am not sure, so dont quote me on this but that may also account for the percieved gear slip too- let me know how you get on mate, pm me with the result. Have you got a chilton re haynes manual?

Did you check the vacuum lines for leaking ATF? Maybe some fluid got into the line, and caused an issue with the power brake booster. The low fluid level might be the cause of the shifting problems along with a defective modulator.
