Still moving in the right direction. The heads came back all shiny and new and have new pushrods and rockers. The engine all seemed to go together pretty smoothly. I made a couple of little mistakes, like putting the drivers side exhaust manifold on the head on the workbench. With the oil dipstick in the way, this wasn't going to work- silly me. That side does have more room, so it wasn't hard to install the manifold with the head on the block.
I did end up stripping the threads on one of the thermostat bolts (that aluminum intake is pretty soft) and had to learn how to install a helicoil without blowing through the intake. I think I got that all figured out.
I think I just have air intake and accessories left. My plan was to figure out where the fuel pump relay is, remove it, and turn it over a bit to get some oil circulated before firing it up. I'm excited... and a little nervous that I screwed something up.
