Prices Paid for Explorer (6th Generation Only)

Read on a Lincoln forum about mustang.org. You can join for $25 and a benefit is the ability to get an X-plan pin. Haven’t tried it but sounds like a good deal.

Thanks! I sent the $53k offer to another dealer to see if they could beat $53k. The salesman that I spoke to said they could, and will have an exact amount to me by tomorrow (Monday). I have no idea how they could possibly beat $53k... We'll see!

did this guy ever get back to you?!?! Curious if they were able to beat it.

did this guy ever get back to you?!?! Curious if they were able to beat it.

I sent him a follow up email, but no reply yet. I've got to believe he can't beat the price. I'll keep you posted!

Ya, your deal seems pretty good. I think I'm just going to go X plan and be done with it. Typical BS dealers around here. 1 I won't deal with. 2nd. is typical...this is the lowest we will go, there's no incentives, it's cut to the bone. (ya with 1000.00 of extra fees on the bottom?) blah blah blah......

Said thanks but don't want the moonroof, so may just have to build one. 3 hours later they call and email. Look we have special price for you now.

56,956.00 Out the door. A little better but they are using the 1000.00 rebate from ford to get that number.

Plus the dealer I'll do the xplan has been nicer, more knowledgeable, and no pressure, just hey tell us what you want to do.

The dealer with the first offer. I had stopped by on sunday while closed. Saw they had a magnetic, no sunroof, but hi performance package.
Figured that would work but wanted to see about the brakes after reviews on here. Sent sales guy a message. I'll be there monday around 12. Time is limited, so want to drive the magnetic with hi performance, and one with just the street package. And be ready to have your best offer, as I'll sign today but not haggling. So he calls and is like, I just want to confirm that your not going to have a whole bunch of time today, as I don't want to waste your time, but it takes a few hours to get to the numbers as we have to take you through, see what you want, talk to finance, then the sales manager. Oh and there really isn't any disounts here, so the price is the price. I explain that I already have better offers and don't need financing, Just need an offer from him and drive the car. So finally get there, and he has the wrong car pulled. It's a ST but no options on it. Then he has the wrong key. Then (whatever game this was) They pulled the grey magnetic and "nobody could find it"

After this screw around. I would rather not give that dealer any money. Stupid Tricks , Stupid Endings.

Well dealers showing true spots now. They have 650.00 on invoice for phantom footprint and permaplate protection. Says they won't take it off as they put this on every car they sell.. I don't want it, I don't need it....take it off. Oh well...off to find another dealer.

Sounds like a very good deal! What was the exact price before tax, title, etc.?

And they gave me high trade. Was just a good deal all around. I couldn't even get a private sale bite at $7500

$895 for gap? Wtf.. highway robbery. Most banks are under $200. Your dealer just padded their wallet by $700.

I would not have even got gap for your vehicle. You are $9k below msrp.. you wont ever be in the red.

Some of these number are fudged with marked up factors. True otd cost and cherry picking what the bean counters listed on some line is not apples to apples comparisons.

Yeah, I would've passed on tire and wheel and gap insurance.

If "gap" insurance is what I think it is, my vehicle (leased) has full replacement insurance on the policy because it's leased.

Price out one of these 21" wheels with a tire... I live in the salt belt and our roads are baaad.

Not exactly how that works, but yeah. Anyhow, my wife is a terrible driver so it's a safety cushion since it's ultimately her daily.

I have a 2000hp 2005gto for fun and my daily is a triple turbo 2016 king ranch dually.

Is this your gap insurance? It basically covers you if the car is a total loss and insurance covers less than what you owe on it basically, correct?

GAPCoverage is designed to protect your investment. If your Ford is stolen and not recovered or if it’s declared a total loss, your insurance company may not pay enough to satisfy what you still owe.

GAPCoverage bridges the gap between your finance balance and your vehicle’s insurance settlement plus up to $1,000 towards your deductible. It can prevent you from owing money on a vehicle you no longer own and help get you back on the road (subject to conditions).

If you want additional peace of mind, GAPAdvantage provides a $1,000 credit toward the cost of a replacement vehicle from your originating dealer (where available).
