Recently purchased a 2003 Ford Explorer and with the cold weather moving in, I found out that after trying to get my driver side heated seat to work, it doesn't. The passenger side works fine, but not the driver's side so any suggestions as to what to look for?

there are tiny, tiny wires that are heated that run across the seat. these break at some point thus no more heat.
if your handy with a soldering gun, and tearing the seat cover bottom off, u can fix, the point of breakage usually has a little scorch mark and u can tell pretty easily. hardest part is getting seat cover off and actually holding the wires to solder. Way cheapr then a $400 new seat foam setup.

I know I fixed my ex wifes Expedition 3x and finally gave up..not worth it(nor was she) LOL

Just replaced the drivers seat heater on my 2003 EB. Super easy and cheap. Ford wanted $130 for a replacement heat-pad, i just got one of those $9.99 heated seat covers (the one that plugs into the cigarette lighter) from Canadian Tire, ripped out the insides of it (the heating element pad) soldered the wiring from the faulty ford one onto the new one, popped it on the seat foam, put the seat cover back on, plugged it in and it works perfectly.
