I installed a review camera in my 97 explorer it worked fine for couple days then a problem showed up in the backup light wiring. There must be a short some place either in the shift lever or some where down the line as the hot wire to the rear view light shows a ground when tested with meter. I removed the camera and wiring but the short is still there and draining the battery.
