problems with stock cd player

Hi I just bought a 02 explorer xlt with a 6 dics cd player and the cds wont load for some reason can anyone help me out?

What's the exact problem? When you press LOAD, what happens?

Are there CDs stuck inside?

ill hit load and then it says cd error and yes 1 cd is stuck inside i unhooked the battery cabels and 1 came out but it shows that i have cds in all of the slots

I had this just last week. My solution: Bang the top of the dash while trying to eject. Some may come out, some may not. I think used a business card and stuck it above/below the CD and they popped out. I had to take them ALL out before any worked.

Stuck cd inside.

I just this morning helped a guy with this problem and he brought his changer in and we took the top off.

And sure enough, some dumb ass had put a home made cd into it with a vinyl label that had started to lift off. took a exacto blade and removed the label.

Dealers will do this for you and they make a profit selling perfectly good players after they remove the bad cd.

so u just pull the top of the dash out to pull out the cd player?

DON'T BANG ON THE DASBOARD!

pull the fuse, i believe it's # 3 under the steering column.

cd player problems are far too common, try a "search" also
