I have never done this, nor have I compared either spindle, but of all the lifts I have ever installed, Fabtech would be my choice over ProComp. As far as installation it should be the same for either.

I'd stick to Explorer Pro Comp. Dude, come on now. FabTech doesn't even have the word EXPLORER in its name.

Well no doubt you read my thread in before and after but I would say Fabtech. Can you say LIFETIME WARRANTY?

I have yet to jump my explorer (probably never will since im paying for it now, not like when my parents were paying for my ranger) but i jumped my ranger with the fabtech spindles on there numerous times and never had any issues.

Just my two cents.

i dont know about either one really, but can attest to the qualitiy of fabtech... they are expensive but very durable and well enginnered. this was witnessed firsthand at thaven 2002 on gophers 4x2 with 33s.....

but according to agent51, i cannot use stock wheels? why is that? ithought the backspacing on the fabtech spindle should not be that far off from procomp, or am i wrong.

Pro Comp and Fabtech are the same spindles. Bullseye Industries in El Cajon makes BOTH. As far as I last heard.

It may have changed an I could be wrong?

use the search function to read previous posts on spindles.

Well if they are the same spindle, then you should be able to run stock wheels with them becuase there are pics of a guy that runs procomp spindles with stock wheels. Look for a thread called "Lifted 98 2wd XLT." Maybe its just a racket to get people to buy wheels. Who knows.

Its wierd, on the fabtech website they have a thing that says "All spindles can be installed on OEM wheels," then they have asteriks next to the applications that say you cant have more than 3 and 3/4 inch backspacing. Ugh last time i checked OEM wheels were 4 and a half in backspacing. What the fuh?

Go with the fabtech. I have the pro comps and jumped my truck. So far both mechanics i went through said that the spindle bent. So i was thinking of biting the bullet and replacing my spindle with fabtech. I emailed fabtech and asked if bullseye made their spindles and they said no and that another company makes them. However, for some reason they told me that their spindles only fit 98-2000 while pro comps fit 95-2000. Why is that? Isn't all the years the same?

i emailed fabtech about there spindles awhile back and they said they have none avaible for explorers. the closest thing was spindles for rangers, so i went with procomp (bullseye spindles) and i am running my stock wheels (had to grind alittle to be able to turn full lock).

Can you incorporate Explorer Pro Comp Spindles with a TT?? Install the spindles and max out the torsion bars to gain a big lift.

Ummm. that's what everyone did who installed the spindle.

Where did you have to grind the spindles????????????????/

Also... what's the best deal anyones found on the fabtech? and where?

I got mine for 398 bucks at Off Road Warehouse in San Diego.

i had to grind the lower a-arm(not the spindle) because the spindle was hitting it. (there are some threads that talk about this.)
before grinding i could only turn like half way after grinding just alittle i was back to full lock.
