I have Xbox with the dvd kit in my truck. I drove 3 hours straight and it did not jump skip or anything while watching a dvd. I think the Xbox would give you better graphics/sound while playing dvd's but with the xbox you do have to buy the dvd kit. The dvd kit does come with a remote which is pretty cool.
I have a PS2 in my room and use it to play DVDs all the time and I have never had any probs at all playing DVDs. It's true that the older model PS2s supposedly had some probs playing DVDs, but that's pretty much cleared up with the newer ones. I dunno how it'd do in a vehical though with all the bumps and woofers vibrating the crap outta it, but I dunno why the hell the woofers would be blasting if your're usin the PS2 anyway.
what comes to mind for me is- pamela anderson's playboy compilation (but with your own soundtrack for which i suggest ludacris "back for the first time")
wait- thats what i was watching tonight after work. just fyi though even with the subs hitting 140 dbs plus my clarion dvd unit doesn't skip. i'm sure a ps2 would, but i wont' really know until this weekend.
