I have a 1999 Ranger Sport Extended cab 4x4, I bought it used it only has 91,000 miles on it. I have found that when ever it rains or I wash my truck I get a puddle of water in the middle of my drivers side floorboard. The weird thing is that its only wet in a puddle there is no obvious direction from which the water is coming from. It doesnt seem to be coming from behind the pedals its almost like it is coming from underneath.. I havent washed my truck in over 5 months because I dont want my carpet to mold and everytime it rains I have to immediately us my shop vac to get the water out of the carpet. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this or what the problem may be?

Welcome to the site. How does the windshield seal look? Your best bet might be to have somebody slowly hose the truck until you see water on the inside.

I'd bet on the windshield seal too. My mother-in-law has a Ranger that has had continual windshield sealing issues...

If you suspect the windshield, mix some liquid dish detergent with water and spray around the windshield perimeter. If you have a compressor, blow air from the inside at the edges and watch for bubbles outside. If you don't have a compressor, use alot of soap, close the doors and windows and turn the heater blower on high, you should get the same result.

I suggest that you check all the grommets where your wires etc. go thru the firewall. Could be one of them is not seated, or someone has run a wire and not sealed it properly.

Leak?

Make sure to check the door seal too, water can come in over the sill and travel under the carpet.

If your finding water in the center of the drivers floor only, look for a missing factory floor plug.

Hi Everyone,

I also have water inside my 06 Ranger

Lots of Water In Drivers Footwell and Drivers Side Passenger Footwell.. you could keep fish in them.

I really Haven't a Clue where it's Coming From, I've tried pouring water over it...argghhh

The Carpet seem to be dry nearer Front aswell

If anyone else has any Ideas I'd be Grateful

My 04 Ranger will sometimes trap water in the driver side door. I have not seen it spill into the cab, but it could. Check the plastic drain plug on the inside bottom back part of the door. My door will sometimes trap water. If I fiddle with the plug it will drain the water out of the door.

Found It....

after an Interior Removing Mission and Back on with the Hose
It turns out the there is a Tiny Rust Hole where the Inner Arch is
Welded to the Floor/Firewall.. about 2 Inches Below where the steering
column exits the cabin.......

Just gotta Dry Everything Out and Put it Back Together Now :exp:
