I just did the brown wire mod and am very happy with the results except now when in full 4x4 mode the B***h pulls heave to the right. I just had the alignment done, checked out good. (new bushings, ball joint w/control arm) and she tracks just fine in 2 wheel mode. I had felt this pull before but just assumed it was the ice or snow pulling at me, curvature of the road etc. Now it turns out that pull was the front wheels locking in when engaging 4 wheel mode. Any suggestions as to what to look for? fix? replace? blow up? :scratch:I really would like this to prevent me from visiting the ditch not putting me in one, even though I now could get out of one easier. :help:

Obviously check the suspension and steering components. If one of those has enough play it could induce a self steering effect.

Thanks for the reply but that is not a factor, thinking internal components

Shouldn't be. Its an open diff.

Something wasn't done right in the alignment.

No mention of checking tyre pressure.

You could also rotate the back tyres up to the front to see if that changes anything.

I guess I will have to get the alignment checked again. Could it be caused by something dragging? Bearing is good though. But why is it only pulling when in 4x4?

I don't know much about these setups, as mine is an AWD model. Does your vehicle have auto locking hubs?

It maybe be worth putting the vehicle up on jack stands to get all 4 wheels off the ground and see if all four wheels spin. Have a friend watch and try gently applying the brakes and watch to see if anything happens.

It sounds like only the right front is being driven ... or at least being driven faster. Seems like there must be a problem either in the front diff or the axle locking unit. Definitely think you need to get it off the ground and get a better look at what is happening.

I would think that it would only be getting power to the front left wheel if it's pulling to the right.

Yeah maybe. I was thinking about that. (The point is only one side driving.) Tank drive.

Getting it up and seeing what is being driven and what is locked together will quickly narrow down the problem, I would think.

Well I found out all 4 wheels are turning fine and as it also turned out I had a bad tire on the front. Not quite sure why it did what it did but the new tires made a world of difference. Now on to other issues I am having with the damn thing.
