I have a 1994 Ford Explorer w/ the 4.0L pushrod V6. I am replacing the head gaskets due to a leak through one of the gaskets. After pulling the rocker arms to unbolt the heads, I inspected the push rods and found what appear to be grooves in the ball of some of the rods. It appears to me that the rods were not spinning around, which is what I'm used to. Is this normal or do I need to replace them? I have them separated in the order of placement in the motor, so I can put them back in the correct positions. My concern, if I reuse these rods, is will they eat up the rods and rockers due to the grooves not lining up perfect when reinstalled.

On a side note:
When I unplugged the Crank Angle Sensor wire, the plastic connection on the sensor itself broke. Is the sensor a plug and play device so to speak or will a new sensor require some adjustment to get the timing right?
