Putting on Soft 8

.....Most 32" tires are 50# max while 33" tires are 35# max..

..Of course this depends on each tire Manuf. ratings and per tire size/model..;)

I always attributed that to the load but I just looked and the load range of the 32" BFG KO load range C tire is still 50psi.

It must be a different carcass or something like that.

Well Im buy 33/12.50/15s and was going to run 15x8s but the more im reading I got kinda confused. I know normally if you run low PSI you would blow a tire or pop a beed. But I keep reading bout people runing low PSI. Im going to have to drive atleast 45 miles to get to any good Offroad areas (legal areas.) so i need the best set up for going that far at atleast 65 so i think that the 15x8s probaly arent my best option. I want to insure proper wear on the tires also.

Never run your tires aired down on the street. It's asking for many problems like roll overs & popped tires, plus it kills fuel economy. the best thing is to drive to the spot, air down and have a good time, then when you are ready to leave, air back up with a portable compressor. Most of the cheap portables will take 12 forevers, but it will get done. There are some portable compressors designed for off road trucks that work much better. I got mine from Amazon. 4wheel parts has them too.

I run my BII's 35x12.50s on 15x8s at 35 PSI (max pressure on the sidewall).
Sure the ride is a little harsher, but the mileage gains (both in MPG and in treadlife) is quite significant. With the amount of aired-down offroading I do in rocks (it's my wheeling toy, not a DD), I've found it keeps the treadwear pretty even overall (if you don't air down for offroad often, I'd probably suggest running about 30 PSI instead so you don't have as much wear in the center).

I understand the air down at the destinaion and up when on road. i got to drive this truck daily bout 6 miles a day and weekends bout 60 or more. so i need best all round. i think im going to get the 15x10s. I was wanting to save a few bucks by getting the 15x8s. as far as the compressor i got one its pretty good ive had it for bout 3 years now never failed me it airs up fullsize tractor tires in bout 35 mins.

If you have new tires, and a known good alignment, there is a simple test to figure out what pressure to run.

Find a long straight section of road with no traffic. A long parking lot works too. Air your tires to a good starting point. Use a piece of chalk to make at least three lines across the tread on all four tires. Then drive in a straight line for some distance, without turning (the steering wheel), spinning or skidding the tires at all. Then stop and inspect all four tires. the chalk lines should wear evenly across the entire tread. Adjust the tire pressure and repeat the test until you are satisfied. You may find that you will need a different pressure in the back vs front tires. Naturally, if you load the rear with weight, or tow a trailer, you will have to increase the pressure to compensate for the squat of the tires.

It is often easier to over inflate for the first test and gradually reduce 1 or 2 psi for each test.

I still would not go less than 30 PSI even if the chalk isn't wearing from the edges yet. Below 30 and all benefit of even wear is lost to worsened MPG and shortened overall tread life. Any unevenness in wear can easily be kept at bay through proper tire rotations.

Ok I’ll try the chalk method when I get my tires. It’s going to be a little while before I can try this though due to me being downrange at the moment I’m just trying to get the parts sent to my house before i get home so I can build my Explorer the first week I get home. Thanks ya’ll for the info. it’s much appreciated. heres the set up I'm looking at as far as my budget will allow right now.
