I am pretty sure the 90-91 4.0L (yes in 90 it was in Rangers) has the small throttle cable cover and in 94 they started making that ugly 4.0L EFI one :)

Both of them look better painted :)

Mine has the smaller plate.

Can anyone confirm if there'll be clearance issues for this intake setup on an X with a stock hood?

As you can see, my 94 has the half-size TB splash shield:

Your truck is so pristine under the hood. Compare it to mine in post #24...

So the fit and finish was good for the cone adapter?

It looks like a stock hood will clear the PVC based on the photo. I think I'm going to do this this weekend coming!

its far from done ! i need to do some painting and some other stuff.... but thanks !

and 410Fortune's 302 for the win !!

o ya ! it fit good ! i love it ! good and snappy on take off now to ! and this is a pic i took of the lift of the pvc off the intake...

You guys see that intake tube pctured? that sucker is from a 90's something Aerostar 4.0L. this is the intake tube you want :) it works great, you can have the filter behind the headlight OR by the power dist box like the early 4.0L OHV was (up to 95) I ditched my PVC setup for this tube, much better fit and it has no restrictions in it.

everything bolts right up with that? i think i'd have a hard time finding that intake tubing. Can you be more specific on the year aerostar?

Well I think 1997 was the last year of the Aerostar, so 90-97 probably. Sure an Aerostar tube will bolt right up, it's a 4.0 OHV also, although it has a squirrely intake manifold on it...

I wish I could but this one was actually laying on the ground in the junkyard and I said holy moely that thing will work perfect. It did. Later I saw one in another yard in an Aerostar so I then knew where it came from, but I didnt check the year. It may have even been a 3.0L.

This tube also fit my 70mm MAS and my 66mm TB.
