So, I just got this 5X10 tilt trailer, to haul 2 atvs..so we loading them up..heres how we loaded them straight on with one in the front with the front wheels over the front of the trailer, and the other straight behind it. and its all good..we hit the highway, and thats when all hell broke loose..and that bi*** started to sway to the point that it darn near fliped over...ok so I when we finaly made it to the riding spot..(had to come back home and load up the ranger with my atv, and my buddies truck with his bike and drive sperate) we found the dude that I bought the trailer from, and Im like this is a piece..well needed to say hes said he never had problems with the trailer..whatever..ok so do you think that I might have had to much weight on the back of the trailer? When its on the hitch..it sits level..but with I put my banshee on the back ove the trailer it sits lower in the back..so do you think its cause of the wight on the back of the trailer?

oh..its a tilt trailer..so the axle is like 2 inched foward of center of the trailers middle..

Try to load as much weight as you can towards the front but not exceeding a 350-400# tongue weight.

Good call Alec. Sounds to me like there was to much weight behind the axle on the trailer. When I use my trailer I load things so that it's mostly centered over the axle, but still has a hundred or so pounds extra toward the front. Maybe load the heavier of the two ATVs first. Hope that helps.

Not enough tongue weight.

60% or more of the weight has to be toward the tongue, in front of the wheels or, well, you know what happens.

How fast were you towing them?

You could always secure some water jugs on the front of the trailer if you need to add tongue weight. When I tow my popup, I always fill the built in water jug plus an additional 6 gallon jug and keep them towards the front of the camper. Keeps things riding nice.

check the tire pressures, on the trailer and the truck
Also make sure you have enough of a drop from the hitch to keep the tonque of the trailer as low as possible, (trailer should be mostly level)

Always load the front with the heavy stuff and over the axle.

How are your rear shocks? What about sway bar?
