So, in the XLT, if you open the rear hatch and look along the left side of the cargo tray, you see three icons at the bottom of the trim along the left hand wall. One is a battery, one is a triangle with an exclamation point (warning), one is a book (?) with a letter I (I assume something like "information in manual"?) Well, without pulling the trim piece, I cannot figure out what the three icons are warning/telling me about. Anyone know?

Thanks,

Mike

PS And yes, I checked the manual, but I couldn't locate anything.

My ST has the same emblems. Not sure what they are for.

According to the owners manual , the triangle is a warning symbol, the battery symbol means battery, and I'm guessing the other symbol mean check the owners manual. Why there is a battery symbol there, I don't know.

Anyone know how to remove that trim panel? I'm not just idly curious. I need to wire in a power inverter, and I'm wondering if there is a power distribution point under there. AFAIK, the only fuses are under the hood and up under the dash, though, so I dunno.

This link has a lot of detail on removing the trim panels. How to: - Aftermarket Amp & Sub Install

I see that you have the tow package so the wire harness for that should have 12V power if you can access it.

Good link. I see how the panel comes off now, and I see a bunch of what is underneath, but there's nothing there that seems associated with the warnings on the trim piece. Weird.

I wonder if the trim piece is the same for most/all explorers and there is something in there for the hybrids that I don't have on my XLT.

Prolly an across the spectrum part.

Batteries are just behind the second row seats I believe.
