Do you recognize customer feedback like the MFT bug thread on this forum?

It appears that some of the bugs we reported did not get addressed in the 2.11 software release.

Please let us know so we can continue to report bugs on this forum, use another reporting form if you prefer that, or stop altogether.

Thank you.

We scared them away!

It's now my opinion that Ford will only concentrate on stabilizing the current MFT 2011/12 vehicles and has another team developing an improved system for future launches.

Let's keep bumping this thread, we really need an answer. IVT Team, is this the end, are just incremental bug fixes coming? Or is a redesign in the works?

I think we have been abandoned or they are regrouping from all the influx of questions.

I tend to agree. There is not much more else I think they can do at this time.

They probably aren't allowed to say anything about the 'possibly coming some time in the future major rewrite.'

Most of the things posted on here are repetitive, and they can only be expected to say the same things over and over again so many times.

I have no doubt they are still keeping an eye out for things they can help with, and will gladly do so with all deliberate speed.

Having said all that, the silence is a bit deafening. Going from having the Ford crew enthusiastically jump into the forums with a bang so to speak, only to have them all but disappear is a bit jarring. We got spoiled, plain and simple. I haven't ever surfed on another forum where the manufacturer took such a pro-active stance. I think all that we need is a some reassurance that Rebecca and Cory are still on here looking out for us.

I am not an owner, yet, but this forum has been invaluable in getting me familiar with the benefits and quirks of the Explorer. It is a great vehicle and I feel that when our time comes, we will sitting behind the wheel of a beautiful Sterling Grey LTD.

Thanks to all of those here who have contributed so much to make this forum the 'go to' place for Explorer information.

Happy Driving!

Cory is still around, just Rebecca "My momma always said I was a gift from heaven!" that's MIA. :)

I note that Rebecca is with the IVT Team whereas Cory is Customer Service. If I were Ford and had software issues like this, the product manager, developers or QA would be dealing with customers to gather the best info and appease clients where possible.

I don't know how Ford is organized, but Rebecca may have a second superhero job that she has been called away to.

I was told today by ford that there is a major rewrite coming sometime in the begining of 2012, I dont know any more than that though.

Can you download and set that as a waiting sound for MFT?

Get the new improved 2.11, at least it reboots itself.

and then it would get stuck in a continuous loop of crickets, reboot, crickets, reboot, crickets reboot.

I'll just settle for my A-pillar buzzing sound instead topped off with a brake squeal or two!

This would be a perfect car for the nature lovers out there!

Imagine, hopping into your brand new Ford Explorer and getting in touch with nature....

The calming sounds of crickets chirping on MFT, a hive of buzzing bees in the A-pillar, adorable squealing piglet brakes, the rhythmic ping of raindrops on the roof, and the soothing rush of wind heard on the BT microphone.

There is no need to waste gas driving to the great outdoors, the Explorer brings the wilderness to you!

I think the hope was they'd remove a large enough number of user complaints with the last update that they could move on and start working on MY2013. Unfortunately, I don't think they can, with probably 100K of these on order, they are going to have a much larger problem then they did with MY2011.

I'm not sure how many sold of the 2011's, but it wasn't an all out production year. If they don't get this fixed, it could be a much bigger problem for Ford this year.
