Does anyone make a gear set to replace the timeing chain and tensioners on the SOHC engine?

I remember when I had my K1500 Chevy Truck you could get gear sets to replace the timeing belt. They added a lot of sound to the engine but they didn't break.

Just a curiosity question.

Uuuuh, no.... Those gears would have to span an insanely long distance... it's not like the cam-in-block engines where the crank and cam are 6-8" apart. SOHC engines have the camshafts up in the heads, a good 18" or so from the crank. A set of gears won't hack it.
