Question On Front Diffy Fluid

I have a '91 Explorer. I have a small leak in the front diff., so I want to make sure I keep the fluid up. The AZ guy said if I have auto hubs to use 75/140 full syn., and for the manual hubs to use 90w. I have the Warn manual hubs, but a buddy said to use the 75/140 in them anyway. Anyone have the right answer?

No one has ever changed their front differential fluid?????

Differential fluid has nothing to do with auto or manual hubs. If you're leaking fluid then synthetic will leak out faster (as it has uniformly shaped molecules). Regular diff fluid contains molecules that vary in size and tend to leak less by clotting around the leak.

The same as you use in the rear; 75-140 works for me since that's spec. Others use different weights with no trouble.
